The CH-VACD implementation guide describes the FHIR representation of the documents for the exchange of vaccination and immunization information in the context of the EPR (electronic patient record) in Switzerland. This eCH standard references the eCH-0241 standard CH Core (R4) (v3.0.0: STU 3) based on FHIR R4.

The following documents and messages have been defined:

• Immunization Administration document
• Vaccination Record document
• Immunization Recommendation Request message
• Immunization Recommendation Response message

The documents are based on the IHE Technical Framework „Patient Care Coordination (PCC)“ with the profile „Immunization Content (IC)“. The IHE PCC himself references the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA).

The CH VACD implementation guide has been tested three times at the yearly Swiss Projectathon and HL7 Switzerland has successfully performed a ballot for this STU3 version.
